A former governor of Anambra State , Peter Obi, on Saturday took a swipe at political workplace holders in the country.

The ex-vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) inside the 2019 elections stated it's miles insanity for political workplace holders to have 22 automobiles in their convoy.

He said as a former governor, he discovered that about 13 automobiles that rode in his convoy have been empty.


He spoke whilst turning in a lecture at the eight convocation rite and award of levels to college students of Veritas university, Bwari, Abuja.

Obi stated there has been want for authorities to reduce down the price of governance within the Country.

He stated: “there's no location in the world that i've visible in which one man moves around with 22 cars. It is insanity.


“I used it as a governor. You'll not believe it. I used it as a governor till I requested to find out one day how a number of the vehicles people have been occupying, and about thirteen of the cars have been empty.

“So the vehicles had been creating nuisance for the general public and making matters difficult for the traveling humans and in Nigeria that suggests you are effective. You are in power.


“That’s why I said if we're occurring this path, there will be fall apart. What the authorities is now doing is to shared pension money. This could lead us to nowhere.

He advised Nigerian youths to change the dwindling fortunes of the country through improvements, creativity and entrepreneurship.

Obi said: “nowadays, Nigeria is the most important financial system in Africa, accompanied by South Africa and Egypt. In case you combine those countries, their Gross domestic Product isn't always up to Apple, an international generation company.

“So Apple is truely worth more than those 3 African giants. That is what information can do.”

The Vice-Chancellor of Veritas, Prof Hyacinth Ichoku, said that the university awarded tiers to 286 graduates together with five post-graduate students.

He said 25 made a first magnificence honour in the 2019/2020 educational session.
