Nigeria Sign Cooperation Agreement with South Sudan

Nigeria have signed a cooperation agreement on a wide range of areas including trade, oil and gas, Education and Health with South Sudan

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyema

 Geoffrey Onyema, the Minister of Foreign Affairs,  signed the agreement with his South Sudan counterpart, Nhial Deng Nhial, state that the agreement does not include de-fence and security as Nigeria does not have any boot on the ground in South Sudan.

"Nigeria has remained committed to peace and stability in South Sudan since its inception and will continue along that path" said  Geoffrey Onyema

The visiting Minister commended Nigeria for the support given to his country, which he said, has enhanced peace and stability in South Sudan.

He called for the assistance of Nigeria in the containment of the militia forces in the country, saying the country was running out of time because by May a new government is being expected.
