INEC declared okigwe North Senatorial election inconclusive in IMO state
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Okigwe North Senatorial election in Imo state inconclusive.

INEC Public Relations Officer (PRO) in the state, Immanuela Okpara, said this while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Owerri on Tuesday.

Mrs Okpara said the three Local GOkiovernment Areas (LGAs) involved are Obowo, Ehime-Mbano and Ihitte-Uboma.

According to Mrs Okpara, INEC is yet to receive results from the three LGAs, three days after the election, hence the verdict.

She said a date would be announced for a rerun in the affected LGAs.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released results of 118 National Assembly seats out of the 469.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that from ongoing collations since elections on Saturday, 44 winners have been announced for Senatorial positions out of 109 as at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

Eleven winners are from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), 32 from All Progressives Congress (APC) and one from Young Progressive Party (YPP)

Also, 74 winners have been announced by INEC for the House of Representatives seats out of 360.

NAN reports that 24 are members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), six from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and 44 from the All Progressives Party (APC).

About Millions of Nigerians went to the polls on Saturday to elect federal lawmakers who will represent them at the National Assembly for the next four years.

According to premium times report, there are 468 slots available for grabs at the National Assembly: Senate 109 and the House of Representatives 360.

These elected lawmakers will be in charge of legislative duties for the next four years.

Some of the people vying for legislative seats are the incumbent Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and the Speaker of the House of representatives, Yakubu Dogara. Both men are of the opposition PDP.

The final senatorial and House of Representative election results will be declared at collation centers for each of the districts across the country.

Not less than 17 people  been killed and several others injured after suspected herdsmen attacked fishermen in Ebete village, Agatu LGA of Benue State on Wednesday 21 February 2019.

According to report, the fishermen were going about to their business on the River Benue when the heavily armed herdsmen fall  on them, killing seventeen persons on the spot.
An eye witness said other fishermen escaped with machete cuts.

Confirming the incident, the member of House of Representatives representing Apa/Agatu constituency, Adamu Entonu, described the attack as barbaric, primitive and capable of endangering our nascent democracy.
Entonu strongly condemned the killings and urged security agencies to ensure that those responsible are apprehended and prosecuted according to the law of the land.

A woman was rape by two men in Beue state

Benue state police command has arrested two men identified as Tersoo Joseph, aka Adikpo, and Demenenge Iorwa, both pictured above, for claimed raping a married woman and robbing her.

During investigation, Tersoo Joseph, aka Adikpo, and Demenenge Iorwa, of Logo 1, Makurd, were arrested in connection with the case. The suspects have confessed to the crime.” he said
